Looking for a racking supplier in Newtownabbey? We're happy to talk through what you need. Give our team a call and we'll offer honest advice, not a hard sell.
You can, but only with the right precautions. Pallet racking is normally designed to EN 15512 and inspected in service to EN 15635, the established industry standards for steel storage systems, so it's worth checking that yours follows them. Keep it loaded within its rated capacity. And where there's a risk of items falling, fit safety accessories such as wire mesh decking or anti collapse mesh. If you need to work directly underneath racking to do maintenance, picking or cleaning, check it first, keep walkways clear and pull any damaged frames or beams out of use straight away. If you're unsure whether your setup is safe, it's worth getting a professional inspection rather than guessing. We can advise on racking protection and safety accessories for your Newtownabbey site.
That depends on a few things: the type of system, how many bays you need, the height and depth of the units and the load capacity you're after. A small run of adjustable pallet racking costs a lot less than a full longspan or cantilever system for a large distribution centre. Because every warehouse is different, get in touch with details of your space and stock. We'll put together an accurate quote for your Newtownabbey warehouse.
In most cases, yes. Fixing racking and shelving securely to the floor, usually with anchor bolts, stops it tipping or shifting under load. This matters even more for taller units, heavily loaded bays or anywhere with forklift traffic. Requirements can vary depending on your setup, so if you're not sure what applies to your site, it's worth checking with a professional installer or the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), the lead body for workplace safety here. Our installation team fixes and levels racking to the floor as standard, so you don't need to think about it separately.
